We have arrived!!

It is now official - Wes and I have embraced the progress of technology. We may be behind most....up until this month we had a regular TV and recorded shows on a VCR -- yes....you read that right -- we used a VCR to record shows....we could set the timer and everything.....a few weeks ago - we got a 46" flat screen TV at a pre-Black Friday sale and this week we added a DVR onto our cable plan. The TV is awesome!! We love it! The DVR --- well it is taking us a while to get used to -- there are so many options....it is crazy and the remote control has soooo many buttons.....but I am sure by the end of the year we will have it down -- or we can just wait a few years and have Audrey Kate program everything for us -- haha -- we have truly arrived in THIS century....better late than never I guess! :)

What a scream!

Here is my new favorite picture of Audrey Kate and her daddy -- isn't it just precious??

Saturday night we were sitting with Audrey Kate and talking to her. For some strange reason, we started to scream at her....don't ask me why....she was soooo funny - she just screamed back at us - we took turns like this for 10 minutes - it was hilarious -- we tried to capture it on video -it is just a little taste of how silly our little girl is --

5:30 AM

Audrey Kate woke up at 5:30 this morning -- she just laid in her crib talking to herself.....she is lucky she is so cute. Even at 5:30 this is a precious voice to wake up to...in the video it is dark because her room is dark....so you can't see anything...all you hear is Audrey Kate...what a cutie!

Play Mat

This is just a quick video of Audrey Kate playing on her playmat and talking to her toys - what a smart girl....and she has so much to say!!! I think that she gets her talking skills from her mom....would you expect any different from a speech pathologist's daughter??

The day has finally arrived!!

It finally happened!! Audrey Kate slept the whole night last night - she went down at 8:30 and did not wake up until just before 7:00 -- YYIIIPPPEEE!! And...when she woke up she was just talking to herself in her crib. Now she has been sleeping through the night without eating for about a week now - but we have to get up 3-4 times a night to give her her paci so that she can go back to sleep -- but last night she was such a big girl!! I am so proud of her and so well rested - although I think that I could still take a nap this afternoon :) - just wanted to share the good news!

Hi Ho Hi Ho - It's off to work we go......

The seven dwarfs were always so happy as they whistled their way off to work.....and I think that I figured out why -- they must have only been working 2 days a week. I think that I truely have the best of both worlds. I get to be a mom to my beautiful Audrey Kate, staying home with her 5 days a week, and have been blessed with only going to work 2 days a week. It was a choice that I made with my husband's support to return to work...and it was a difficult one. I knew that I didn't have to go back...but I love what I do so much and have worked so hard to get to this point - and I wasn't ready to let it go. And let me tell you, I love my job. It feels so good to get up and get dressed and be a professional making a difference in the lives of children in need and their families - helping them learn to communicate. I feel like I am retaining a sense of self. It allows me to not have to rely on Wesley for my adult interaction - and gives me something interesting to talk to him about when I get home. It has helped me be a better wife and enjoy my husband and daughter even more...if that is possible....I treasure every moment we have together now and feel as though I am a better mother/wife because I am not taking those moments for granted. Now, I am not just spending time with her - I am spending quality time with her - and that is the best thing I can do for my child -- I know some people think differently about working and being a mom - but this is a decision that we made as a family and is something that we believe is the best thing for our family at this time. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful supportive husband who has supported me in this decision. :)

Bumper Pads

Audrey Kate has learned to turn her body around while she is lying on her back. She started doing this yesterday when she was playing on her play mat - and I thought it was so cute. She rolls up onto her side and kicks her legs - turning herself around. Well, last night I checked on her twice and both times she was sideways in her crib....the second time - her face was up against the bumber pad!!! This freaked me out!! I could see her easily getting her face stuck against the bumper pad and not being able to move her body to get where she could breathe again -- so I think that the bumper pads may be removed--at least for a while -- I would rather her bumb her head or bruise her knee on the crib - then get stuck where she couldn't breathe -- am I the only crazy one who thinks this way???

Look at that!

I was looking at Audrey Kate the other day and wow she sure has gotten bigger - we took pictures of her getting dried off after she got out of the bath - just like when she took her first real bath at home - just look how big our little girl is getting - can you believe it - and it has only been 3 months. The picture below is from 4 days old.

Tummy Time Fun

Audrey Kate is getting so strong - here are some pictures that I took today during tummy time - she will be rolling over before we know it!

Halloween Cutie

This was Audrey Kate's first Halloween - what a cutie! She wore a cute Halloween outfit during the day - she loved her bow - but as you can tell she was not a big fan of her halloween hat. Audrey Kate decided to be an adorable bunny. We went to my friend Sara's rehersal dinner that night - so no trick-or-treating for us....can't wait for next year though. Doesn't Audrey Kate make the cutest bunny you have ever seen -- aaawwww!
