I realize that January is almost over -- I am way late in posting pictures from Christmas -- and I have given up in trying to tell you all about the fun that we had - just know Audrey Kate's first Christmas was great! There are pictures of Audrey Kate with her first 2 Christmas presents, her first snow experience, and her with lots of her cousins and family. ENJOY and Happy Late Christmas!!

Well, Jordan had surgery for the second eye on Tuesday. His parents say that he is handling it pretty well. The hardest part is giving him eye drops every three hours. But he is starting to get used to it and realize that it is over quicker if you just put up with it. We should find out soon how is vision is and what else needs to be done for his eyes. I talked to him on the phone a week or so ago and asked him how he was doing. He said "I'm okay. I have to be a pirate for two weeks -- uuugghhh". I am attaching a picture...I think that he looks like a Crazy Ant.....what a sweetie! Keep him in your prayers!!

I read Audrey Kate several books every night. She loves it. Sometimes she likes to look at and touch the pictures and sometimes she likes to watch my face. Well, last night she wanted to watch my face. I read her the stupidiest story called "Eeeek! There is a Flea on Me". It is about a flea that jumps on different people and animals. The book then shows how they react like "OH" or "Yeow". I don't even know where I got this book - it is one of those early readers with lots of rhyming -- I never read it to her because it is so weird. It wouldn't be one that I would ever recommend to a family to read at home....there are others that are so much better....But....for some reason, I picked it up and read it to her last night -- she just thought it was absolutely hilarious - or maybe she thought that I was absolutely hilarious. Either way - what a glorious sound - I thank God for her beautiful, pure, joyous laugh!! (even if she is laughing about a flea)

As you may recall, we removed Audrey Kate's bumper pads when she was starting to roll because I didn't want her to get stuck and not be able to breathe. Well, my little sweetie is a big time mover....I am wondering if you think that we should put the bumper pads back on -- this is how I found her when she woke up from her morning nap..... scroll down

Jordan was home from surgery on Friday. The doctor removed the cataract, removed his lens, and implanted an artificial lens. When he first woke up from the anesthesia, he was not a happy guy - who can blame him. He said his eye hurt and he didn't want to wear the patch. People were holding his arms down so he couldn't take it off. But he was home Thursday night and eating/playing so that is good. They will be able to put on a new patch soon and he will be able to see some through it. They have surgery for the next eye scheduled for next week. The doctor did not check the retina since they worked on his eye for so long....so we still don't know how much he will be able to see. Please continue to pray for the other surgery and healing for this eye! Prayer is powerful!
This morning Audrey Kate and I had to run a few errands and my gas light came on. So, I decided to stop for gas. As I was about to pull into the gas station I had to stop....not for an ambulance...not for a police car....not for a train ....or even a bus! I had to stop for a bunch of COVERED WAGONS!!! What in the world! The picture that I have attached is a picture of a covered wagon pulled by a bunch of zebra horses -- what is that about!!! There were 20 other wagons...what a sight...I have no idea what is going on - but they were moving West -- LOL -- and why were they at the gas station....not like they needed gas -- :)

As most of you know we have a sweet nephew named Jordan. He is 4 years old. When we saw him over Christmas, his parents had just found out that he has cataracts. I didn't even know that children could get cataracts. Jordan can barely see. He kept saying "The man is throwing snow in my eyes and I can't get it out". How sad is that!!! He even had a black eye from where he ran into the bed when he was walking. He played Hide and Seek with his dad and his dad just stood in the middle of the room and it took Jordan more than 5 minutes to find him. I had Audrey Kate sitting on my lap and Jordan was sitting right next to me....and he said "Where is my cousin Audrey?" I said "right here Jordan" and took his hand to show him where she was so that he could touch her. And all he kept saying was "she is soft" -- break your heart!! Well, Jordan has surgery tomorrow. They are going to remove the cataract on one eye and then do the other eye next week. They don't know how much vision he will have after the surgery. Anyway - I know that his parents would appreciate as many prayers as possible for tomorrow -- pray that the Lord would guide the surgeon's hand - since he needs to be so delicate near the eyes. Pray that Jordan's sight would be restored and he would heal quickly. He has been such a good boy though all of this -- not really complaining at all. --- poor sweetie!!

I think that it is time to put my Sonic addiction to rest. I went to Sonic on Friday and they messed up my order. The same guy always seems to wait on me....I don't know if the Sonic near me is run by one man who does everything...or if he just always waits on me. So, I took a sip of my drink -- I am a frequent customer at happy hour-- and then I had to press the button again so that they could fix it. What do you know -- my sonic guy comes out to fix it. Well... I went to Sonic today and decided to go through the drive-thru to try and avoid my sonic guy...and what do you know...he is working the drive-thru. Well...he smiles at me and says "We will try and get your order right this time." I was mortified!!! This man knows I am addicted to Sonic!! How embarassing!! I don't know if I can give up my sonic addiction -- so I may have to change up which nearby Sonic I visit for happy hour -- crazy!!!
